I have a Michel from 1985 and this set has no price notation. Either singles or set.
This is the current Michel value
Scott has listed at US$125 Mint, $62.50 Used per stamp. They seem readily available on ebay or hipstamp, albeit at the high prices.

That is true, although it is true for almost any stamp: in these internet times anything can be bought with a few clicks.
What I would like to know is how many of these stamps have been printed and if there is a significant difference with other stamps issued that year. Could that be a reason for the c.v.? The subject matter is not that special that it attracts extra interest.
The c.v. had been 125 per stamp for a mint one / 62.50 for a used copy for at least 10 years. So no mistake, I suppose
Sometimes I wonder about catalog stamp prices, I have a copy of Spain Edifil #19, or Scott #21 if you want, that catalogs at 12,300.00 Euros mint hinged, and 3,675.00 Euros used, In Scott it is $14,000.00 mint and $2,000.00 used, now take a load of this, in Stampworld, the internet catalog it is $10,761.00
mint and $32,283.00 used, while the mint price seems to be about the same in all three catalogs, how come there's such a discrepancy in the used price in the Stampworld catalog?
I can't help it to be skeptical about these Ivory Coast stamps issued in the 70s when most stamps from the era from any country are readily available for a very low price.
Sometimes sets are missed by the stamp trade at the time of issue and stocks never get to the market in any quantity.
One example is the Albanian set from 1970-71 showing factories, SG 1417a-1417e / Scott #1327A-1327E, and all these stamps now have high catalogue values.
I don't know when they were added to tha catalogues but the numbers suggest they were added later than the other sets of the period.
SG lists these at £1,600 mint and £850 used for the set (2019 catalogue prices).
The designs are fairly dull so I guess they weren't marketed actively to the stamp trade.
''... Sometimes I wonder about catalog stamp prices ....''
All the time, all the time !!!
To soothe my mind, I try to use the simple word ''listing'' rather than accept some catalog editors estimate as a true value.
That's probably a more accurate description, those who set the value of the stamps on catalogs they may not even be stamp collectors.
While checking the stamps for my most recent approvals book, I found a few relatively new stamps from 1977 that have a very high catalogue value. First I thought it was a mistake, a typo, but when I looked in an older edition, it said the same and asking around I learned that these stamps are also very high in Michel, Yvert and SG. So what's going on here? What makes these stamps so expensive and is it because they are really rare or is there some weird speculation that upped the prices?
re: Ivory Coast - why are the Exotic Flowers 1977 so expensive?
