Resurrecting this topical, because I know there are other anti-malaria topical collectors in the group. My most recent acquisition is the set from BHUTAN. Three values were prepared for release in 1962 or 1963 to honor Malaria Eradication efforts (after the program ended). The vignettes were prepared by a designer that worked for Harrison & Sons security printers in London. The design depicted Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), known in Tibet as one of the founding fathers of Tibetan Buddhism, along with the UN Malaria Eradication symbol. The Bhutanese disagreed strongly with the results. Picturing a Buddha was itself religiously questionable, however, picturing a Buddha in conjunction with a program to kill mosquitos made the issue of this set impossible.
hello all a couple of anti malaria cards i have in a collection hope you like them.
