I've just received a promotional email from Momen Stamps, with a link to their error stamps. I've messaged them regarding these items.

The first example, priced at $135, this block of 4 with inverted overprint. SG notes that these are of "clandestine origin". Probably printer's waste, and valued as a curiosity only. Probably $10 on a good day.

The second example is this Govt Parcels inverted overprint, on sale at $4,050. The overprint is an obvious forgery. The overprint is fuzzy, with ink bleeding into the stamp. Also, and most obviously, the A is the wrong font.

They're also selling a huge number of Egypt misperfs of very dubious parentage.

re: Forgeries on Hipstamp

I remember looking at their Middle East stamps and feeling very uneasy about so many of the rare o/p and varieties being offered. If the dealer had accumulated them from the King Farouk collection when it was sold, the stamps would be so noted and have certificates, for Egypt. Otherwise, I wonder how they came about. There are seemingly some good stamps, but not cheap!
I was just never comfortable to buy any, even when I just was missing only a few stamps to complete a country collection and wanted them badly. There are a couple of other dealers with similar pricy offerings and unverified stamps all o/p of Middle East stamps. The most common fakes you will find for Egypt are the 4 Egypt "Port Fouad" overprints, (Sc # 121-124) invariably counterfeits but sold as originals!
When in doubt, ask for certificates and the right to return the stamp, with refund of your certification fees, if it cannot be certified.
