"These "Covers of the Day" are selected from my database of 150,000 covers that I have sold on ebay going back 22 years. Prices realized range from $3 to $2,000. (Prices realized will not be posted publicly, but Stamporama members may request via private message.)
Covers are selected like an Improv show ... audience shouts out a topic / country / theme and I'll see what I can show. I may provide a short description, but philatelic "write-up" contributions to the post will be welcome and will hopefully stir conversation and participation.

Any idea if the purple image sort of between the 2 canx. of any importance, or just a stray mark?

I believe it is an incomplete censor mark, but I can't seem to place the origin of that shape.
Similar to this Nigerian one.
The Kenya cover probably was forwarded to Bathurst, Gambia to take the South Atlantic crossing to Natal Brazil and then island hopping up to Miami.
I checked my Gambia covers, and the shape of the censor marking doesn't match the Gambia censor mark. I will keep my eyes open. I know I have seen that shape before.
