Ciskei Sc/SG 1-4 issued 4th December 1981. The Republic of Ciskei was formed from tribal areas of South Africa. It was reincorporated into South Africa on 27 April 1994, after the first post-apartheid elections.
Palau Sc/SG 1-4 issued 10th March 1983. Formerly part of the US Trust Territory in the Pacific, Palau became an autonomous republic in January 1981. It continued to use US stamps until this first issue in 1983.
Äland Islands Sc/SG #1 issued 1st March 1984. Aland is an autonomous province of Finland. Finland administered the postal system until 1993. It started issuing stamps specific to Aland in 1984. On 1st January 1993 responsibility passed to Aland.
Slovenia Italian Occupation Sc N1/ SG #1 issued 1941. Italian occupation during the 2nd World War. When Italy ended hostilities, Germany took control of the area. (First Issues Collectors Club)
Aruba Sc #1 /SG #5 issued 1st January 1986. Aruba was part of the Netherlands Antilles until 1st January 1986 when it was granted internal autonomy as part of the Netherlands.
Aruba SG #1/Sc #18 issued 1986. Aruba is one of the four countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands, along with the Netherlands, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten; the citizens of these countries are all Dutch nationals

Moldova Sc #1 issued 23rd June 1991. Originally Moldavia, a republic within the Soviet Union, in 1990 Moldova declared sovereignty within the USSR and became independent in 1991. Printed at Chisinãu.
Slovenia Sc #100/SG #134 issued 26th June 1991. Slovenia became part of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (later Yugoslavia) in 1918. When Yugoslavia broke up, Slovenia held a referendum and declared independence on 25th June 1991.
Kyrgyzstan Sc/SG #1 issued 4th February 1992. Formerly Kirghizia, a republic of the Soviet Union Kyrgyzstan declared its independence in 1991. Kyrgyz is derived from the Turkic word for "We are forty", believed to refer to the forty clans of Manas.
Kazakhstan Sc/SG #1 issued 17th March 1992. Formerly a republic of the Soviet Union, Kazakhstan declared its independence in 1991. Kazakh might originate from the Turkic word verb qaz-, 'to wander', reflecting the Kazakhs' nomadic culture.

Belarus Sc/SG #1 issued 20th March 1992. Belarus declared itself sovereign on 27 July 1990 by issuing the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic.
Turkmenistan Sc/SG #1 issued 26th April 1992. Formerly a republic of the Soviet Union, Turkmenistan declared its independence in 1991. Turkmenistan's first issue was a single stamp in April 1992, with the rest of the ‘set’ following in Augus.

Uzbekistan Sc/SG # issued 7th May 1992. Formerly a republic of the Soviet Union. On 20 June 1990, Uzbekistan declared its state sovereignty. On 31 August 1991, Uzbekistan declared independence after the failed coup attempt in Moscow.
Tajikistan Sc/SG #1 issued 20th May 1992. On 9 September 1991, Tajikistan declared itself an independent sovereign nation as the Soviet Union was disintegrating. A civil war was fought almost immediately after independence, lasting from 1992 to 1997.
It looks like one company designed all the stamps for the new 'stans after the break up of the USSR.
Macedonia Sc #1 issued 8th September 1992. The Republic of Macedonia was formed as one of the new countries after the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1991 (following the death of Tito).
During WW2, in 1941, Bulgaria occupied part of Yugoslav Macedonia and Bulgarian stamps were subsequently used. In 1944, German troops briefly occupied the area and declared its independence. Overprinted Bulgarian stamps were issued. SG #1.
Kosovo, Republic Sc #93 issued 7th March 2008 (First Issue Listed in Scott). On 17 February 2008, Kosovo unilaterally declared its independence from Serbia. Serbia did not accept the declaration until the Brussels Agreement of 2013.
Kosovo SG #118 (Sc #114) issued 2009. Gibbons begins with this 2009 issue, SG118, numbering from the 1913 Kingdom issues. Scott started numbering after the United Nations Interim Administration Mission (U.N.M.I.K.) issues.
United Nations Interim Administration Mission (U.N.M.I.K.) Sc #1 / SG K1 issued 14th March 2000. Stamps were used locally for the first two months and for international use from May 2000.
South Sudan Sc 1-2 issued 9th July 2011. South Sudan became an independent state on 9 July 2011, following a referendum that passed with 98.83% of the vote. A £2.50 stamp was produced but not sold in South Sudan.
Mount Athos (Greece) Sc 1-5 issued 16th May 2008. Mount Athos is a mountain and peninsula in northeastern Greece and an important center of Eastern Orthodox monasticism. It is governed as an autonomous polity within the Greek Republic.
kyrgyzstan Express Post Sc 1-4 issued 18th November 2014. Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) is the 2nd designated postal operator in Kyrgyzstan. The 1st issue is dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the UPU.

Afghanistan, Kingdom of Kabul #1. The date of the first issue is not known. There are many minor design variations in the early stamps and forgeries are commonplace: this example has been described as 'early Afghanistan or a copy thereof'
Chinese Treaty Port - Amoy Sc/SG #1 issued June 8, 1895. Treaty Port post offices were set up by foreign traders to save the expense of the existing private mail services.
Annam and Tonkin SG1 Sc1 issued 21st January 1888. Part of French Indo-China, bordering Siam. Overprints on French Colonies were used until 1892 when they were replaced by stamps of Indo-China.
Angola SG7 Sc1 issued July 1, 1870. Portuguese colony on the Atlantic coast of Africa, bordered by Congo, Zambia, and Namibia. Independence was granted in 1975 as the People’s Republic of Angola.
Anjouan Sc 1/ SG 1 issued 1st November 1892. In 1886 France established a protectorate over the island; slavery was abolished in 1899, and in 1912, following the forced abdication of the last sultan, France formally annexed the island.
Antigua Sc/SG #1 issued Friday, August 1, 1862. A British West Indies colony in the Leeward Islands group. Printed by Perkins, Bacon & Co. in sheets of 120. Only 8000 copies were issued.
The Leeward Islands term is out of favor these days.
Argentina Sc/SG #1 issued May 1, 1858. Argentina’s first stamp is the charming 5 centavos red.
Argentina - Corrientes Sc 1/ SG-P56 issued 21st August 1856. An Argentinian province that issued stamps before the Argentinian Confederation itself.
New South Wales Sc/SG #1 issued January 1, 1850. The issue depicts the Seal of the Colony, printed in Sydney from an engraving by Robert Clayton.
The first Semi-Postal (Charity) Stamp....In 1897, New South Wales issued the world's first and perhaps still the most attractive charity stamp set, commemorating Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and raising funds for a consumptives' home. SG280 Sc-B1

Tasmania’s first stamp, Scott #1, was issued on 1 November 1853 in the name of Van Diemen’s Land. The name changed to Tasmania with the 1858 Sc14.

South Australia Sc/SG #1 issued October 26, 1855. The 2 pence dull carmine was issued first on 1st January 1855. The #1 was commemorated by Australia in 1955.
Austria Sc/SG #1 issued 1st June 1850. Before 1867 the Austrian Empire included Hungary and Lombardy & Venetia. Lombardy & Venetia were acquired by Austria in 1815; Lombardy was lost in 1859, Venetia in 1866.
FIRST ISSUE innovation: Austria issues the first newspaper stamp in 1851 (SG-N11b Sc-P1). Newspaper stamps are often in short supply as the recipients tended to tear off and dispose of the label bearing the stamp, or bin the newspaper itself.
Austrian Offices in Turkey Sc/SG #1 issued 1867. In 1867, stamps were issued for the previously separate postal administrations of Austria and Hungary and

Azores Sc/SG #1 issued 1st January 1868. A group of islands in the North Atlantic, west of Portugal. The Azores first issue was a Portuguese overprint. In 1931 the stamps of Azores were replaced with unaltered Portuguese. (from First Issues Collectors Club)
Belize SG347 Sc312 issued 1973. Both catalogs continued the numbering from British Honduras. This Central American region became a Crown Colony in 1862, was granted self-government in 1964, and changed its name to Belize in 1973.
German States - Baden Sc/SG #1 issued May 1, 1851. The postal administration of the Grand Duchy of Baden agreed to join the Austro-Prussian Postal Union on April 6, 1850. The decision was ratified by the legislative assembly.
Bahama Sc 1/SG 2 issued 10th June 1859. Originally inhabited by the Lucayan, it was the site of Columbus' 1st landfall in the New World in 1492, but not colonized by the Spanish. It became a British Crown colony in 1718 as part of an anti-piracy initiative
Bamra Sc/SG #1 issued 1888. Bamra (or Bamanda) was a princely state in the Eastern States, Orissa States Agency, Bengal (present-day Odisha State). Raja Sudhal Deo ruled over the state from 1869-1903, issuing the first stamps in 1888. (from First Issues Collectors Club)
Caicos Islands Sc/SG 1-7 issued 24th July 1981. Part of the Turks and Caicos Islands grouping under various administrations, the Caicos Islands issued some stamps of their own between 1981 and 1985.
