Is the border design Swastikas?
People have the idea that Swastikas are always a bad thing. Before The Nazi Party adopted them as a symbol they were looked on as a symbol of good luck, especially by Native Americans. My wife collected "black cat good luck postcards" and I have a large album filled with them. Many of them utilize the Swastika, along with black cats, a single boot, a horse shoe, clover, mistletoe, an ankh, a red bow, a wish bone, and many other symbols. If you dig around on line you can come up with a picture of a Western Canadian girl's hockey team called the Swastikas with the symbol all over their jerseys. There are many stamps that include the symbol as a decoration, including the beautiful Newfoundland airmail stamp C11 and it's DOX overprint C12. The Native population still uses it as a good luck symbol. It will never happen, but maybe every time we see the symbol not used for evil purposes we should try to think "happy thoughts". Just stating my humble opinion, I am not some far right weirdo. I always get right and left mixed up so I hope I have this stated properly. I believe this stamp was dated 1920 which would make it "safe"!

These were issued in 1924. At the time, the swastika had only recently been adopted by a notable political party and was still considered to be a traditional "Good Luck" symbol.

The reversed swastika called a "manji" is still used as a symbol of hope or good luck in Asia and Buddhist cultures. Also used in Japan to mark where Buddhist temples are on maps. It causes controversy when Japanese media is imported to the west, as characters will have manji symbols on their clothes, but no pro-Nazi or anti-Semitic meaning was intended.

Yeah commercial covers with overprinted prexies are scarce as hens teeth.
Here is an interesting illegal use of the Canal Zone prexies.
And a Panama postal stationary item. I have more but not scanned yet.
Nice stuff, i realize my postal stationary was Panama and not C.Z. for some reason i pick up Canal Zone postcards that have been through the mail.
