I'm really glad to hear that he's out and working on his collection.
Looking forward to seeing him post here whenever he can.
Thanks for updating us!
Had a chance to meet Charlie in person some time ago and he's an avid collector no doubt he's itching to come back to the hobby, so we can enjoy his posts again.
Get well soon Charlie!
Well the heart always skips a beat when you see someone’s name in a thread title like that. Very glad Charlie is home.
Get well soon Charlie!
Sally, same here. When I first saw that in the thread, I'm afraid I was fearing the worst.
You stated it so well!
Thank you!

Phew! I'm so glad to get this news about Charlie (not that he was hospitalized once again, but the news that he is home once again).
I had been in contact with Charlie just prior to this last hospitalization.
I hope you start to feel much better very soon Charlie. We miss you!
If I could nominate one member for a "Stars of Stamporama" award it would be Charlie! He's a treasure, the old salty dog!
Hurry back, Charlie!

I am glad to see that you are back home Charlie. Get well soon.
Theresa…
Given his long career in the merchant marine, am confident Charlie would be flattered by the sobriquet.
Greetings and Salutations.
Thanks for warm thoughts.

Welcome back....you are a rock star on Stamporama!!!!
More to the point, "A rock head."
Too dumb to lie down and tickle the roots of the carefully manicured lawn.
I spent almost two weeks on Earth Three struggling with a cohort of Jaberwock Jiants and kicking slithering slithy toves from between my toes and other sensitive places. All the while the multicolored clouds swurlled in and around my head, solidifying, liquifying and at times mesmerizing.
Back on Earth One the doctors were explaining to my gathered family that i was failing fast. A few days, or a week at most, best spent in some kind of Hospice faility where my final needs could be met (Morphine) I guess..
Each time someone asked me what i wanted, I said "I want to go home." I dd not want to die there. I was not keen on dying at home, either, but at least I could reach my Vorpal sword and shield,
Once at home, weak and weary I awaited the demons from Earth three to come and collect me, but strangely began to feel stronger.
Now` they say, six months or so, maybe sooner, maybe later. Either way they will say they were right.
Thats all for tonight
Charlie

Good to have you back Charlie.

Glad to see you are home. Continued good wishes.. Steve
Welcome back Charlie!
Yes Charlie, welcome back Charlie!!
My wife was a real Kingston Trio fan and every time I hear the name Charlie I can't help but think of this:

But, unlike that Charlie from Boston, you did return and we're all glad you did!!!!
Edit: As a basically logical person this song always bothered me. If she could "through the open window hand Charlie a sandwich" why couldn't she hand Charlie a bit of loose change as "the train came rumbelin' through"?
glad it's brillig again..... and you're home
Glad to have you back, Charlie.

Glad you are back Charlie.
Spoke with Charlie 3 or 4 days ago. Mostly about his Machin collection. Was in good spirits.
It’s been challenging for Charlie to utilize his keyboard and monitor. Which has impacted the frequency and length of his SOR postings.
Believe he posted his mobile nbr earlier. And welcomes calls from fellow SOR members.
Your postcards and phone calls are much appreciated. I have always said I would live forever or die trying i am still in the trying stage despite the ominous projections of the local witch doctors. It's difficult for me to get online while flat on my back attached to the bed with various tunes. However, I am feeling better and stronger now than I did three months ago. So we will have to see whether the doctors are right or not. Good luck to all, Charlie. (352) 216-7571
So good to hear from you! Keep on keepin’ on!
Clearly you're a fighter, and are fighting the good fight. Your attitude is inspirational, and you have impacted many. Keep the light burning stamppal- The great stamp club in the sky can wait a bit longer.
Be well, stay well, & heal.

I am such a fan, Charlie!!
You keep going!!

Charlie,
Please keep on keeping on. I have enjoyed so much hearing your stories about life on the sea and in port as well as in your more recent life in Texas and Florida not to mention your stamp collecting tales. Thanks so much for what you bring to our lives through sharing your life.

Just got off the phone with long-time SOR member Charlie Jensen. (Until fairly recently Charlie and I visited almost weekly via phone.)
Charlie is back home (Ocala FL) following a series of hospital visits. He appears to be in good spirits, and several of his family members are staying close and assisting with his recovery. Just prior to my call he had been working on his Machin collection.
Charlie hopes to be back on SOR within a few weeks.
