Thanks for letting us know and good to hear from you Opa.
Update, They have decided on warn strikes for the next few weeks.
So, will there be any private strike posts?

"So, will there be any private strike posts?"
Private strike posts have operated in GB, Canada, US, etc. during various postal strikes. Most existed to just print cinderellas for the collecting public but a few actually provided a service.

Ok, now I know what you mean. No I don´t think so. There are still very many privat postal companies that operate in Germany like TNT, PIN etc. Parcels can be handeled by UPS and the like, although these companies are seldom used by the everyday household.
The post here has declared another warn strike either today or tommorow, I believe the sorters. Mail is still moving but at a much slower rate.

Letting everyone know that the German post has just announced that they are on strike. Postal workers looking for 15% more wages.
Might be a good idea to wait if your planning on sending letters to Germany.
