Congratulations, Randy. That's quite a haul.
Have been slowly acquiring various Barefoot catalogues. Great resources.
Received a wonderful Australian States starter collection (on Scott specialty album pages) from my eldest daughter and fellow collector.
You must have been a very good boy, Randy! Santa was certainly generous to you!
Those Barefoot catalogs are excellent - picked up the Scandinavian & Austrian versions earlier this year.
My big philatelic Christmas presents haven’t arrived yet - a collection of Irish exhibition souvenirs and a DWI collection. Can’t wait!
Nothing this year. I did give my dad his annual Scott US Specialized.
No specific gifts, but my father-in-law showed up with about 50 Christmas card envelopes from his church.
They all had self-adhesive stamps and were intended to be sent out but no one could find the cards that went with them so they were just going to throw them out.
Quick thinking, he grabbed them for me.
Along with a 5th of Chivas, a mini G and some other goodies came these two, one of them will fill a hole in the Penny Page.
A great pair of stamps, especially the one on the right with really nice even borders! I don't collect GB but do have a nice Penny Black - every stamp collection should contain the World's first postage stamp no matter what they collect! And "yes" I put it on the "penny page".
Completes the set of plate blocks for the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition issues.
Canada Post has more or less stopped functioning in my neck of the woods. Last time I received mail I had to go to the main branch, ask for the mail and they pulled out a stack from somewhere in the back office!
But why would I care about mail anyways. I am busy as it is ;-) Just drying my leaky waders and boots , so I can leave back to the bush in one hour.
Harvey, after 48 years of marriage my wife finally realized that shirts and ties just don't cut it anymore, she gave me a dirty look when I said that it would be nice to have the whole alphabet.
Hi All,
Did anyone receive anything philatelic for Christmas?
If so, post it here for all of us to see and enjoy! (...and possibly envy! )
Here's what I was pleased to find under our Christmas tree on Sunday morning;
And finally, a complete mint sheet of the very last US federal revenue stamp issued;
....a fine Christmas indeed!
