Ross Dependency Scott L1-4, Stanley Gibbons 1 issued 11th January 1957. The name was given to the area of Antarctica administered by New Zealand, named after Sir James Clark Ross, who discovered the Ross Sea. It includes part of Victoria Land.
Australian Antarctic Territory Scott L1-7 Stanley Gibbons 1-7 issued 27th March 1957. Australia took control of a large area of Antarctica in 1933. Australian stamps were used until 1957.

Qatar Sc/SG 1-15 issued 1st April 1957. Qatar has been ruled as a hereditary monarchy by the House of Thani since Mohammed bin Thani signed a treaty with the British in 1868 that recognized its separate status.
Qatar Independence Sc 252/SG366 issued 1971. On 3 November 1916, the sheik of Qatar entered into treaty relations with the United Kingdom. On 3 September 1971, the treaty was terminated to allow Qatar independence.
Galapagos Islands Sc L1-3, LC1-3 or SG 1-6 issued 15th July 1957. Ecuador first annexed the Galapagos Islands and in 1973 they became a province. The Republic of Ecuador took the islands from Spanish ownership in 1832.
Christmas Island Sc/SG issued 15th October 1958. Previously part of Straits Settlements and then of the Crown Colony of Singapore, it was occupied by Japanese troops during WW2, reverted to Singapore & became an Australian territory in October 1958.
Central African Republic Sc/SG issued December 1, 1959. The former French colony of Ubangi-Shari, a unit in French Equatorial Africa, proclaimed itself the Central African Republic Dec 1, 1958. It became the Central African Empire Dec 4, 1976.
Rio Muni Sc/SG #1 issued 27th April 1960. On 30th July 1959 Spanish Guinea divided into two Spanish Overseas Provinces, Rio Muni and Fernando Po. Rio Muni comprised mainland Spanish Guinea and the islands of Elobey and Corisco.
Trucial States Sc/SG #1 issued 7th January 1961. The Trucial States were a group of 7 sheikdoms located on the desert coast along the south side of the Persian Gulf. -- Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujeira, Ras al Khaima, Sharjah and Umm al Qiwain.
Bhutan Sc/SG #1 issued April 1962. Late to the game with a postal service, Bhutan used runners and posted items in the Indian or Nepalese postal system until a formal system was established.
Bhutan Sc AR1-4 / SG F1-4 issued September 28, 1955. Fiscal stamps were used as postage stamps for the fortress runner system prior to the Bhutan postal system. The stamps were not demonetized for postal use until 1980.
Taking a different look today...The first phonograph stamp...Bhutan's 1973 set Sc152 - Sc152F are very small phonograph records with short recordings of folk music, history, and the national anthem. Not listed in SG.

Ajman Sc/SG #1 issued 20th June 1964. The smallest of the former Trucial States … consists of the town of Ajman on the Persian Gulf and three separated areas in the interior. On 2 December 1971, Ajman joined the United Arab Emirates.
The recipient of the cover (Stolow) had a controversial reputation as a distributor of issues without real postal validity.
Umm al Qiwain #1 issued 29th June 1964. The emirate consists of the coastal city of Umm al-Quwain and the inland oasis town of Falaj Al Mualla.

Anguilla Sc/SG #1 issued 4th September 1967. Anguilla withdrew unilaterally from St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla in 1967. In March 1969, 300 British troops were subsequently sent to maintain British rule. The separation was formalized in 1980.

Belize Sc 312/SG 347 issued 1 June 1973. Formerly British Honduras, became a Crown Colony in 1862, was granted self-government in 1964 & changed its name to Belize on 1st June 1973. Belize became independent within the Commonwealth on 21st September 1981.
Cayes of Belize Sc 1 issued 1984. The Cayes of Belize is a chain of islands, coral reefs and sandbanks off the eastern coast of Belize. Gibbons does not list: "fall outside the criteria for full listing" & "greatly in excess of true postal needs".
Tuvalu Sc #1-15 issued 1st January 1976. Formerly the Ellice part of the British colony, Gilbert & Ellice Islands. It separated into the Gilbert Islands and Tuvalu in 1976.
Tuvalu SG #1 issued 1st January 1976. Gibbons lists a dedicated set of 3 as the first issue. Gilbert and Ellice Islands colony legally ceased to exist on 1 October 1975, and on 1 January 1976, the old administration was officially separated.
Tuvalu-Niutao Sc #1 issued 1985. One of the nine small islands of Tuvalu. Niutao issued a flurry of stamps depicting such diverse subjects as cars, locomotives, cricket players, and the British royal family in the mid-1980s. Part of topical series issued by many countries. that specialized in topical stamps.
Transkei #1-4 issued 26th October 1976. South Africa granted internal self-government in 1963 and in 1976 it became the Republic of Transkei, the 1st of the "black homelands". The homelands were reincorporated into South Africa on 27 April 1994.
Bophuthatswana Sc/SG #1 issued 6th December 1977. Formerly part of South Africa, the territory known as Bophuthatswana was granted internal self-government under the Bantu Homelands Constitution Act and became independent on 6th December 1977.
UN Vienna Sc #1-6/ SG V1/V7 issued 24th August 1979. These stamps can only be used for mail from the UN Vienna Headquarters and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Venda Sc/SG 1-4 issued 13th September 1979. The Venda Territory Authority was set up in 1969 and granted self-government in February 1973. It became fully independent in September 1979. The homelands were reincorporated into South Africa on 27 April 1994.
Zil Elwannyen Sesel Scott/Stanley Gibbons 1-16 issued 20th June 1980. Zil Elwannyen Sesel comprises the Outer Seychelles islands which include Aldabra, Coetivy, Farquhar and the Des Roches Islands.
