Interesting block, Antonio.
I've never seen anything like it before.
Thanks for sharing it.

Reverse image?
Would have been maybe interesting to see a reverse image, looks like we will never see it!

I'm not sure I follow you! You made an image of the front side, now you don't know how to make an image of the reverse? Is this what you meant when you said "Reverse how?"
Hi,
Isn't this a block of regular stamps cancelled with a registered R postmark?
The stamps I've seen with the provisional R overprint have a postmark/handstamp with a smaller R with serifs and the town name COLON.
My only example is on a different stamp with the PANAMA overprint:
nigelc
Can you show a scan of the reverse side?
There's not much to see on the other side, just some disturbed gum.
Reverse is more a numismatic term. Stamps do not have obverse and reverse sides. I dont have the block to hand but if I have time I will get a scan of the gum side.
So tell me, what do stamps have if not obverse and reverse?
Front and back I'm afraid
You can't even use the terms gum side and printed side since sometimes there is printing on both sides, or on gum side or even no gum at all!!
I've been a stamp collector over 60 years now. In my experience, examination of the reverse side of a stamp sometimes (gum side just in case you don't know) can alot of times help with the right and proper identification!
Hope this helps less experenced stamp collectors!
@Smauggie, reference your posting on 10 Dec 2022 at 05:40:05 PM, hope you have the item at hand se we can see the reverse, I think maybe this will be very interesting!
Thank you
These postage stamps, overprinted with "República de Panamá" for use in Colon were further overprinted with a handstamp used to indicate registered mail. The ten cent value was the correct rate for registered letters in Panama at the time. I am not sure why they decided to "overprint" the stamps in tete-beche form.
