You need to reduce the length of the ebay link. Cut it off after the end of the item number. Or perhaps a mod can do this for you.
I haven't had this problem for a very long time. Normally I cut and paste a very long link, hi-lite it, go down below and click link and it automatically shows a shortened version with ... after it. And why did it make both of my responses disappear when one of them didn't even contain a link? Very strange indeed!! Well, they weren't that earth shattering anyway. I sent a message to another member with the same two links done in the same way with no problem whatsoever. Again, very weird!!
Your messages are still there but squashed because of the large link. here is a screenshot, amend /edit the link.
I had a look and I'm sorry to say I don't know how to make the changes. I don't think the post was that dreadfully important to life as we know it, so I'll just let the post drift into obscurity!! Sorry, but my skills are a bit out of date!
All that is needed in the link is this bit ( https://www.ebay.ca/itm/233502787616) everything else is superfluous.
If you go back to the post (not sure if you will still be able to edit due to time lapse) Highlight all that comes after the number and press "delete", that should leave you with just the link shown above. Then post the message.
That's why I had the problem, it was too late and the edit was gone. Anyway, the link is there now if anyone needs to check it out. I don't really understand why the links automatically shorten in some cases and not others, but that really doesn't matter now. Thanks for trying to help and I'll be more careful with links from now on!
Somehow I managed to totally screw up this original thread when I tried to add a link as an edit! If anyone was following this for any reason I am very sorry - it is now totally blank! I have no idea why, but it is!!!
