Thanks Ralph. They are going to be scheduling me for cataract surgery. Maybe these old eyes won't miss this stuff.
Richard, you'll see a big difference when those cataracts are out.
I hope so Michael
I also can attest to Michael's prediction. Not only will you likely see more clearly, but the sun and indoor lights will seem brighter than you remember.
" ... Not only will you likely see more clearly, but the sun and indoor lights will seem brighter than you remember. ..."
I must be the odd man out.
While the above is mostly true, when the cataract surgery was done on the left eye three years ago, the recent operation on the left eye, not so much.
Last week at the VAMC Eye Clinic the tech had me look at the small display screen on the wall and read the letter. Yes, the letter "A" which had been obvious a few moments before.
My response; "I cannot even see the backlit screen beyond a small part of the left hand quadrant."
Interestingly, when I shift my focus to an imaginary point about six or eight inches above the screen, I can see the "A" for a moment or two. And the peripheral vision with that eye is good enough.
But examining a postage stamp with the left eye is not possible. So not all cataract surgery comes out perfect.
But, as Judge Marylin says at times,
"... Así que podría ser peor. ..."
I guess my mom was right about me going blind if I kept looking at those Playboy magazines.
Can someone identify this Eqyptian stamp which I found in some kiloware? I can't find it in Linn's and suspect it is probably a Revenue stamp. Thank you.
