A few things stick after having read the article: first, how long will the stock of Machins last (a month, a year?) and secondly what will they come up with as a replacement for the iconic Machin stamps and what will be their common name?
I believe one appealing feature of the Machin was that the image was a young QEII.
and it is amazing there were really only TWO definitive series in her 70-year reign: Wilding and Machin.
