I’ve seen one landing twice into the Avon Park AFB from the east to the west. A huge and strangely silent aircraft. I’m sure that they were monitoring Cuba at that time.
Many years ago I saw the SR71, Blackbird, at the Duxford, UK, site of the Imperial War Museum. This being 61-7962. There is a whole display of US fighter aircraft including a B52. Made you feel very small and wondering how the heck it ever got off the ground.
I've also seen the Flying Boxcar take off, very loud.
I lived in England many years ago. I happened to see the SR-71 landing one day from the side view, looked just like a Flying Boxcar from the side angle orientation I viewed it.
