Odd that is. I mainly just check new listings, and for a month or two now, each day I see different lots, the numbers bouncing around quite a bit. But rarely do I see the same things over and over again. Unless I suppose unsold lots are being re-listed...
I believe that any item listed is automatically given the title of "new" and it lasts for 24 hours. Once the 24 hours have passed the item is automatically removed from the list and the designation "new" is dropped. The item can then only be found in either the category list or the specified country.
However one must bear in mind is that the seller determines the length of time an item is listed for. i.e. 1 to 14 days.
In theory and practice a seller can have items listed for one day, re-list it the next day and the next and the next and each time it is given the "new" title.
If a seller does this, indeed I did this over the weekend to see if my theory was correct, within minutes the items not only appeared in the "New Items" but also in the "Closing in 24 Hours" section and they still had the "new" title as well!
What can be done about this?
I feel that something should be done as we could see the same items appearing day after day after day.
One solution would be for items to be listed for a minimum no of days. Whether it be 5, 7, 14 or more.
I believe that this should be discussed by the members and a solution arrived at.

I am wondering what rules determine what items show up when selecting Auction->New Items. Do newly listed items remain as "New Items" for a period of time? I tend to check Auction->New Items every night and I continue to see the same items for several days. I would have thought that only items listed since I last looked at the "New Items" would be listed. It is somewhat tedious to look through the list of several hundred items looking for new items and seeing the same items for several days. I'm simply wondering what the programming rules are that determine what items and for how long they remain in the "New Items" list.
