It appears to be Scott #11 mint. In great shape, at least $1000. It would, even in this condition, be an album filler that someone should be willing to pay $25 - $50 for. That's just a guess since most serious Canada collectors are fussy about condition. My copy is used and very well centered, mint ones are a bit scarce.
More likely a #8 that somebody started to add fake perfs to, but gave up when he saw it wasn't going so well.

And I don't think it's unused. It appears to have a removed pen cancel. In general it appears to have been somebody's plaything.

Roy, you're probably right about adding perfs to #8 to try to turn it into #11 which is more expensive. It really does look like that and you're probably right about removing the cancel since mint is more valuable. They've turned a half decent stamp into a joke. It would probably still be worth about $25 or so as a novelty. I wouldn't buy it but someone probably would!! I have both #8 and #11 and I don't want one that is pretending to be half of each!!
Verdict...Shitcan
Thanks Folks
No. put it in the auction with a $2.00 opening bid
and see if it fulfills someone's dream.
If there is no action after a week or two, then
consign it tg the dustbin.
I agree, give someone a chance to give it a home!!!
Heck yeah, a buck or two and throw it in a glassine with some other orphans, just imagine a kid finding this stamp in a mish mash of stamps. I have never understood the " sheet can" of semi key stamps in poor condition, when I was a 12 year old kid I was stoked when I got my first US Colombian with missing perfs and a heavy cancel. Its just part of becoming a philatelist.
Done! I'll report back.
Absolutely don’t toss it! I agree that there are hordes of collectors who would much rather have a raggedy space filler than nothing at all!
And damaged stamps can serve a very valuable purpose as REFERENCE MATERIAL. There is nothing better than seeing the real thing to help you know what the genuine stamp looks, feels and “smells” like.
There is a home for every stamp!
I sell old covers on eBay. I reluctantly listed some awful covers, and gave tongue in cheek descriptions. I'd say, "Yes this is a terrible cover, but who knows if it's the only cancel known from this DPO?"
I even had a series called "Ratty Old Covers" with each listing ending, "will someone please give this tired old soldier a home?"
And guess what, the most awful covers that had hovered over the trash can all sold! Today I have no prejudices, I list them all. I factually describe the faults and let the buyers decide! And the covers I thought were a waste of eBay space were always the first to sell!
Final update....sold at auction for $2. One bidder. So, it moves on.
I think that person got a good deal. It's a nice album filler and hopefully will not be chucked out if the buyer finds a better copy. I don't tend to buy album fillers but if I have a few and find better copies I just mount them to one side to remind myself what was there before. Besides, that poor old stamp had been around for over 150 years, it deserves to be around for a bit longer. I'm a bit sentimental about older items and like to extend their period as long as possible!!

This unused Canadian stamp was in an album I recently acquired. Missing perfs on three sides, and short on the other. Also, you can see the gum has seen better days.
I realize very old stamps are often with flaws, but has this one crossed the line?
This stamp, in unused (and obviously much better) condition has a CV in 4 figures. Offering it as a space filler for a few bucks just doesn't appeal to me.
Thanks in advance.
