Are you asking us to recommend a hitman Joe?
Larry
No hit man Larry, at least not for you!! But, there was a series of books by Lawrence Block about a hit man by the name of Heller who happened to be a stamp collector. Maybe that's who I need!!
Is there a way to only display your favorite sellers? Maybe you could attack the problem from the other direction? I think that works like favorite countries i you click favorites once and they are always there. Hmmm I’ll have to try that myself!
What would be REALLY cool is if you could opt to only display your fav country’s from your fav sellers. That would be perfection!
And the Lawrence Block novels are a weird but fun read. Whenever he wants a stamp for his collection he takes on a job.
Yes you can eliminate a seller.
Go to Auctions, click on Buyer, scroll to bottom and click on My Seller Filter and follow the instructions.
I've used it before and the seller has never come up in the auctions again until I removed it.
Edit I wish I could do it for certain buyers!
Didn't think I was that bad Ian, trouble is it only works for auctions.
Thank you, Ian! You’re a gem!

It would be handy if there was a simple "block all sellers who don't accept Paypal", and "block all sellers who won't ship to Australia". That would save me a mountain of wasted time.
The blocks need to take effect on Approvals as well!
Maybe if one goes down on bended knee and kisses Tims feet or ask him out for a slap up meal at Mrs Miggens Pie Shop.
Who knows.
I just eliminated three sellers from my list. Now all I have to hope is that they never offer any item I might want!! It certainly does make a difference when going through the new items!! I almost felt a bit guilty doing it but there really is no difference between that and the people who just check their favorite countries. Thanks for your help.

Harvey:- Just be careful there are only 29 sellers listing in the auctions at the moment.
Maybe some sellers shall seek revenge:-

I know Ian, but I think most of us only buy from our "favorite" sellers anyway. Why would I even check out someone who doesn't ship to Canada? I would just be upset if he/she had an item I wanted. And there are very few sellers who don't accept PayPal and a couple of those are in my own country so it doesn't matter anyway. I'll probably end up excluding 5 dealers I would never buy from anyway and even then they would be easy to check occasionally. Sometimes when I get up in the morning there are almost 1000 new items to look at and a lot of them are for newer items from two of the sellers I've excluded anyway. You offer a lot of new material yourself, but not exclusively, and I have picked up some wonderful stuff from you over the two years I have been a member. I have to be careful not to get carried away, but it's still basically the same as the person who only checks out his/her favorite areas.
Aye, you have to be careful or you end up looking at items you have no interest in, your eyes go out of focus and you probably miss the one and only item you are interested in.
I click on new items scroll to the bottom of the first page, see how many items in total, if its more than a couple of hundred then I head off in another direction completely. As for topicals I avoid that category like the plague.
I tend to use the Country search function more than anything. If there is nothing of interest then I keep my money for another day.

The Seller Filter in the Auction (under Buyer dropdown, select My Seller Filter) now covers the Approval Books as well as the Auctions.
Tim.
Thanks so much for that, Tim!
Makes it much better, at least for me!

I know how to use the exclude function but it seems to have to be redone every time I check the auctions. I really don't want to sound negative but there are a few sellers I'd like to exclude, with the option of possibly bringing them back occasionally. There are a couple sellers who seem to deal exclusively in newer items and this type of item doesn't interest me at all since I am almost totally into the classic period. Also a couple of these sellers display very large numbers of stamps. So, is there a way to get rid of these "annoying" people with the option of eventually bringing them back? I might possibly regret this if one of them offers the occasional older item I want but I'll take that chance for now.
