Nice, Tim. Tanks for sharing.
Tim are you only collecting Minnesota Rooms ? I have a bunch but I am not sure of the state. I could put a few up each week at auction or make up a book of 24
Greg
Greg,
With the RPS covers I'm collecting more generally. Let me know if you are posting some in either Auction or Approval Books and I'll take a look.
Regards ... Tim.
Tim, I'll try to put up a book of 24 on friday. I just need decent weather for photos. I sell postcards elsewhere and picked these up in a lot. I happened to notice they were flagged as rpo when I began to list some of them. I usually don't look at the cancels except for the date. All are older postcards
Greg
I have RPOs in my NJ cover collection. Just a natural thing to do!
I'll have to put this off a bit as unless I want to get involved with stitching images, I cannot put two images on one page. I'll have to look into that
Greg
yes you can
Charlie2009, I think Greg meant combining an image to upload on the sales platform.
Greg, if you use Irfanview, you can combine images horizontally or vertically using the create panoramic image under the image tab. Add first as current image then add the second. Check image size, adjust if necessary (ctrl R), then Ctrl S to save the combined image. You can add more images if you want.
Edit, here is one that I just put together from 2 individual images.
Thanks Vic, I will give it a try
Greg
I collect RPO cancels also...
...on federal revenue stamps.
Oh boy. Let the bidding wars begin!
Randy, are you in the APS? I get a US revenues circuit. Now and then railroad company cancels are on the revenue stamps. You shouldn't get any revenues canceled in RPOs since that is postal service, not tax revenue collection. Nice thing too is that most collectors don't add premiums for the cancels.
I discovered recently that as an extension to my interest in collecting Minnesota Cancels, I'm rather interested in collecting RPO's. Being a model railroader and cover collector (amongst other things) RPOs just seems like a natural addition. Many years ago I bought a book called "Railroad Post Office History" published by the Mobile Post Office Society. I've been finding this book absolutely wonderful for researching information about a Railroad Post Office.
It is only a small collection that I have so far, but you have to start somewhere. I've added them to my Minnesota Cancels website. You can see them by clicking on Tim's RPOs.
Regards ... Tim.
