It's British Columbia (the design is the seal of British Columbia) #8 or #14, depending on the perforations. Look's like #8, perf 14 to me, but it could be #14, perf 12.15. Value of a used #8 in my 2006 Unitrade specialized catalogue is CAN$150 for Very Fine, or CAN $100 for Fine. Number 14 is worth 10X more than #8.
Your copy is in fairly rough condition, which would probably lower the value to, I dunno, CAN$20? But it's not a common stamp, and in my opinion it is highly collectible despite its problems.
Bob
Looks like either Scott #9 or # 14 depending on whether it is perf 14(#9) or perf 12½(#14).
Listed under Canadian Provinces , just prior to Canada listing in Scott.
I think that would be #9, Bob....typo??
In my 2013 Scott, values would be
#9---used---$250.00
#14---used---$1400.00
There are two perfs for the stamp - #9 is perf 14 and #14 is perf 12 1/2. Just by counting perfs it looks like #9 which is $300ish used in my 2010 Scott's Classic. It's badly damaged in one corner but the straight edge is fine. So value with the corner would probably be about $100ish - just a guess! I don't have #14 to compare yet but it really looks like it is number 9.
Thanks All!
My God...I'm rich! LOL....but pretty darned cool!
Found in an Ebay lot among many, many duplicate common stamps. Still waiting to check for any nice queens that have been soaking.
Paid $10, including postage....what's the old saying..."even a blind squirrel will eventually find an acorn"?
I'm a fairly new seller.....assuming this is the #9, what would be a reasonable selling price?
Thanks
In my humble opinion, with the damaged corner, a price of around $50 seems fair.
As Musicman said, “I think that would be #9, Bob....typo??”
Nope, no typo. I could use that excuse, but three “typos”? Not likely — it’s a thrice-repeated error.
Bob
FYI....perf is 14
Bigcreekdad is correct: His stamp is British Columbia #9, perf 14, and is therefore has a considerably lower catalogue value than #14. I downloaded an image of BC #14 from a Canadian company, Arpin Philately. Here's a comparison, with Bigcreekdad's #9 at the top and the Arpin #14 below, showing fewer perfs:
Nevertheless, it is indeed a nice find! (And it sure is easy to confuse catalogue numbers and perforation gauges!)

Nice comparison display, Bob.
Found this in a lot of Canadian stamps on Ebay. Thoughts?
