The only sideways watermark on the 20c according to Sg is on the later issues from 1975 onwards. This would have been multiple crown CA diagonal.
Sg shows 3 issues Reddish Violet, 21/1/1975.
Deep Reddish mauve, 21/6/1977.
Deep reddish purple 22/6/1979. This is also known with crown to right of CA.
There was a subsequent issue in 1976 without watermark

Thanks. It is definitely not a diagonal (what I called parade). I guess it is an error. I also got a $5 value with an upside down watermark.
My 2015 Sg Hong Kong lists the 1975 $5 inv. as SG324cw, CV mint £12, used £4.50
According to Scott, I have a Hong Kong Scott cat 277 20c Machin with a sideways (left) St Edward's Crown watermark (no question on watermark ID). I do not have access to a SG (mine cuts of at 1970) but I checked Colnect and it identifies this as a 277a. But in Scott, 277a is WM 373 (parade multiple Crown CA). Scott only lists sideways for the 15c, 30c, and 40c values.
Can someone confirm SG listings for sideways for St. Edward's Crown watermarks?
