all spoken for...now to the Post Office
What do you know, I was the one who asked and I just received all these covers today. Almost all the covers are in small envelopes measuring 122mm x 82mm. Most are not sealed, so I'm not sure what could have been included, if anything. They were addressed to W.A. Dore of Chatham Ontario. He worked at the Federal Development Business Bank, where a few of the letters were delivered to. There's hundreds of covers. Here are a couple, one from the town I live in, it's rather plain, nothing special. The one from Batawa, not too far from me has a number of date stamps, a commemorative office opening stamp, the Post Master's stamp and signature.
Mr Dore must have been trying to get cancels from every post office in Ontario. Sending these stamps envelopes to the various offices, asking for extra cancels and maybe a signature from the post master.
I know I did something similar with Canada's Arctic post offices back in the early 70's, but all are lost unfortunately.
It will take me a while to go through these covers. It was nice of him, or someone to have sorted the lot alphabetically though!
Thanks a bunch Cheryl for these covers! They've found a new home!

That’s pretty cool, and kind of you Cheryl!
I collect New Jersey USA cancels like this. I started when I was in my teens and my goal is to collect them all past and present!
And now I’m 21 times 3!
Good morning
..Just wondering it there is any interest in Ontario postal covers from the late 1979 + ?
I have 300+ envelopes from that time frame collected from the provinces post offices .
Many have several cancels, a postmaster signature, and several are now closed offices. Several in cottage country were seasonal offices. They were picked up by me at our local club auction from the family of a deceased member.
They are yours if you wish to pay for shipping. I have them in packets according to the alphabet, thus nearly 26 pk.s Mailing individually may be a bit cheaper... maybe not .??
Message if there is any interest. Don`t want to see them be destroyed thus my reason for rescuing them
Cheryl
