I always have trouble trying to see the difference, especially as I only collect used. The postmark date if it can be seen is really helpful.
i can certainly see the difference in shades of color among the duplicates i have.
i found a few more...although they were ethnic Italian my Grandparents were patriotic Austrians ...my Grandfather and Great Uncles all served in the Austrian army during WW1. It seems the Austrians were a bit better off than their Italian neighbors with compulsory education etc; When Italy took over the Trentino it was time to go..my grandparents came to the U.S. entry level in the coal mines of Pennsylvania and worked their way up. Lucky for me i guess.
I never paid too much attention to these stamps..but one of them could have been my Grandmother from the Tyrol.
