Sound advise!
For message boards give them your screen name and password so the survivor can write a message. They will get back nice memories!
In my other hobby there have been times when a wife would know one person in the hobby, who would then spread the word. Other times the wife would log in and leave the message. Since I run a big event, I'll occasionally get the message from family and have to post the news. Sad duty!
Remember too that these folks may need advise on what to do with collections.
Good idea Theresa!
I’ve gone a step further and created a list of SOR members who I want Cathy to send certain collections/accumulations to.
I want to know they are in appreciative hands before she asks our local stamp auction guy to come over and make an offer on everything else in my “stamp room”.
I’m not saying Ireland has a familiar name attached to it. But I’m not saying I’m not saying (I don’t want any hit-squads coming up North)…

(Hoping to live to a healthy 95 then pegging out in my own bed with a smile on my face like my dad).
My wife died of cancer in December 2014, but was sick for about 4 years. During the last year we visited the banks and made sure she made her accounts joint and got in touch with friends telling them what would happen soon. She was a regular writer on certain fan fiction sites and got in touch with all the moderators to let them know that she would not be participating much longer. I wonder if I would be able to do the same thing if the roles were reversed. I honestly don't know, I guess some of us are stronger than others.
Philb made a REALLY good point that families rarely let us know if one of ours becomes incapacitated or passes. Very sad when friends are left wondering where someone went.
I made up a note right NOW to add to my will & estate & emergency documents that lists my hobby affiliations to make sure they are notified. That would include Stamporama, The Stamp Forum, the American Philatelic Society, the Eire Philatelic Association and my local stamp club. None of my other hobbies have social groups. It only took me about 10 minutes and a copy is now printed and in the filing cabinet and hubby is aware. Easy peasy!
EVERYONE PLEASE DO THIS!
Here is part of my list that you can cut and paste to get you started;

Thank you!
