For grins, which company had this ad?
It remains a mystery...i think i received the ad as you see it..without the dealers name !
I look at this 1959 issue in StampWorld and all three stamps are cataloged at 25 cents, which tells us they are worth close to nothing now 63 years later.
Wonder how much groceries one could buy with the 70 cents back in 1959, or how many international letters could be mailed.
Sold for three weeks only.............I feel bad for those collectors who bought those stamps in those first three weeks.
My 2016 Scott lists the Lincoln set (Scott No. 39-41) as USD$0.75 mint, USD$0.80 used.
The hype has not changed.
Back in the 80s i purchased a stockbook of Ghana from a speculator...he was disappointed with the amount and i paid too much !

During the summer of 1959, I drove Bungalow Bar ice cream truck and made the princely sum of $0.95 per hour. A gallon of gasoline cost about $11.9 per gallon.
But at least I was able o get sunburned arms and flirt with the young girls all day.
I thing a chocolate covered "Bungalow Bar " sold for fifteen or twenty cents then.
So to do the math, 70 cents bought about six gallons of petrol and took about forty minutes to earn. It took a three cent stamp to mail a First class letter.
Bungalow Bar ! I was a loyal Good Humor Man Long Island kid !
Well i am sure it is hot...but today the same stamps sell for a fraction of what was being asked for these "New Issues."
