Don’t know Mr. Portwood. But his member profile suggests he was on SOR as recent as May 6.
The last I heard from Jack is that he and his wife were fine. Family in TN contracted COVID and there were some serious problems.
Hopefully all is well.
Peter
Yup, he's quite the chatter, isn't he?
Hi! gang! any update on Jack, I haven't heard from him since May 6th either. Da*n! I hope he's all right.
He has not been posting in StampBears either.
I haven't heard from him at all. I hope all is well down there. His daughter, son-in-law and grand-daughter came down with COVID some time ago, I hope everything is OK with them!
He is no longer listed as a member of Stamporama.
Maybe lots of folks are busy with family events. June is graduations, weddings, Father’s Day and the start of summer, too.
That’s a REALLY good point! I’m going to make a note right NOW to add to my will & estate documents that lists my hobby affiliations to make sure they are notified. That would include Stamporama, The Stamp Forum, the American Philatelic Society, the Eire Philatelic Association and my local stamp club. None of my other hobbies have social groups.
DONE! It took me about 10 minutes and a copy is now printed and in the filing cabinet and hubby is aware. Easy peasy!
An EXCELLENT idea, T!
I am sorry to say but I have heard from Jack's daughter that he passed away on May 4 in Nashville. He died from a heart attack.
It's sad to have another Closed Album.
Sad news . He will be missed.
That's sad news indeed. I only had occassional contact with him, mostly in the last year.
Condolences to the family and friends.
Sorry to hear.
Jack and i used to message two or three times a week..i felt free to talk with Jack on many topics, his health issues of which he had many, stamps and our families . Although we never met in person i considered him a friend.
So sorry to hear this news.
I was the same as Phil. Messages being sent every other day between Jack and myself, sometimes every day. He was quite the chatterer, and I suppose I am too. I enjoyed our conversations about stamps, guns, pets, health and life in general. I was always interested to hear of life in Kentucky.
He'll be sorely missed.
It is nice though, that his daughter now has a baby boy, born on June 12. He was named after their fathers... Jack Alexander. One life departs and another arrives.
I just hope for the best for his grand daughter.
Condolences to his wife, children and family.
Peter
A sad loss.
