it need expertise... the coil 43c is known to have many fake /forgery, I have 10 or so of this fake, all hare know to be imperforated and without taging.
These could be booklet stamps not coils.
It's hard to see with your photo, but it looks like there is a score-line between the two. Common with Canadian coils, as they were issued in bulk, made up of 10 rolls. Clerks would snap off a roll as needed. Lots were sold as blocks of 4 etc... very little if any premium for these oddities.
These were the only ones I bothered collecting - I didn't bother with the rest...
Peter
Peter you have a nice collection of blocks of 4, very interesting. I soaked thousands of stamps and this is the only one used horizontal pair I found. All other envelopes with two stamps were not attached or in vertical strips. This came on an envelope to Northern Telephone Ltd. where people used to pay by cheque
the good old days when there was lots of used stamps roaming around. I'm going to keep it in my collection of used stamps.
By the way there is no booklet of these stamps and they are tagged.
There's no mention of untagged varieties of these 43¢ coils in Unitrade, so if you find one... it's a keeper!
I don't really collect much newer Canada stuff but these are very reminiscent of #'s 126a, 128a and 130a in the Admiral series. The first two I got fairly cheaply but the third one was rather pricey!!
These ones are cheap! Even I can afford them!
while soaking a hoard of stamps I came across this odd attached horizontal pair of a vertical coil stamp.
