looks like environmental damage, either light or chemical exposure causing the purple to fade to blue. sort of a neat effect, would have been a pretty stamp if it was designed this way.
That's interesting! Here's my copy of the same stamp with similar environmental damage, along with a normal stamp:
I've always assumed that my stamp was a one-off changeling, but now I'm wondering if someone wasn't playing games with their Boy's Chemistry Set (which could be used by girls). I'll admit that when I found it, I thought that it was a bicolored variety, but soon found out that that's not the case.

Can anybody ID this stamp for me? It is very similar to Scott No. 341, but it seems to be two-colour instead of one.
