I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Scott #145 and Unitrade #145

Stamp on left appears to be over inked in area outside map of Newfoundland while the stamp on the right is much lighter although there appears to be darker areas in the border and other areas.

Scott makes no mention of a difference. Unitrade mentions re-entries exist over the entire design. Is what I am seeing a major re-entry? If so why is it only on a certain portion of the stamp?

re: Newfoundland Question

Although the resolution is not great it appears that #145 is on the right and #163 is on the left. You can tell the placement of the words "BAULD" and "NORMAN" . They are different printings.

Larry's right!! I never really noticed that before. If you check Scott's 2010 Classic it tells all the differences between the two series, I'm sure other sources do as well but I'm too lazy to look!!!

DUH D'Oh Evidently this 80 year old brain was to lazy to look also. If I had continued reading, I would have seen all the small print that told me the difference between the 1928 issues and the 1928 re-engraved issues.

Thanks for the help, saved me from mounting some stamps in the wrong places.

What makes me feel even dumber is that I have both complete series complete!
