I'm hardly an expert, but the faint watermark and blued paper are characteristics of #1, and these have the typical cancellation seen on that issue. This site has lots of photos of the early issues and might be helpful.
Thanks for the address.
Like most collectors, I have problems identifying colors.
The color of the stamp stops me from saying 100% that it is Scott 1.
Evidently the red brown ink and paper used for Chile #1 by Perkins & Bacon were the same as those used for the Penny Reds if you have some of those for comparison.
I have several Cristofor Columbus 5 centavos stamps.
The stamp I think is Scott #1 I marked with X on the pictures.
I found the 3 types of watermark b, c and d.
The paper is blued.
I compared the colour against different stamps and concluded that it is "brown red".
The stamp is engraved with clear impression.
My conclusion that it is Scott #1.
I hope there are collectors with experience in these stamps who can confirm or contradict my conclusion.
It would be of great help to me.
Thank you.
