Great article Bob, and glad you added these covers. These aviators are well known in French history, as is Antoine de St Exupery, better known here as the author of this wonderful Children (and adults) book: The Little Prince.

Among the Christmas gifts from my wife in 1968 was a hardback copy of The Little Prince, which I first encountered in a French Class in 1967 at the University of Missouri. It’s certainly among my 10 favourite books. If Putin had read and understood it, there would not be a war in Ukraine.
