"but it is very irregular on the right top of the crown."
Not too sure how many people remember using blotters and ink eradicator back in the days of the old fountain pens with ink bladders.
let's just say ink spots were not uncommon...

I remember coming home from school,
PS#95 i off McDonald Avenue, n Brooklyn,
with ink blotches on my hands and between
my fingers from those straight tipped pens
and inkwells. Then my mom having a fit
because my white shirt had ink stains as well.
The black mark (actually two...one much smaller) is odd. I thought first it might be a pen or marker, but it is very irregular on the right top of the crown. It shows minutely on the rear. I'm wondering if this happened during printing. Has anyone seen anything like this?
