The seller with the foggy images has posted before saying he is having trouble with his camera or scanner. I'm willing to give him some leeway and see if he can straighten things out. He won't sell much unless he does!!
I think these books should be withdrawn and reworked.

"The seller with the foggy images has posted before saying he is having trouble with his camera or scanner. "
Actually, he seems to be doing quite well! One of his books is 33% sold, not too bad when you can't even tell what shape the stamps are in.
"This seller should not be allowed to sell anything until they can provide better images."
It is interesting that the FOG booklet is receiving attention in the same week as the French Booklet of d1stamperClearly the latter is the Mona Lisa of Approval Booklets. What is surprising and even possibly alarming is that both booklets the Mona Lisa and The FOG have sold almost the same number of items. The contents of the booklets are as different as the presentations so it is an apples and oranges kind of comparison but there must be a number of members who are interested in buying surprise items and who take great joy in material with missing perforations and nibbled corners......sometimes called fillers.
I thought it could not get worse, but take a look at the scans of the latest : Book #23391: Austria Mixed
Help......

I do not understand the need to berate the seller? I thought the general rule was if you do not like the stamps or presentation do not buy them.
It seems counter to the wanted friendly atmosphere to continue to berate someone when you are not buying from them but others are.
I agree with dell4c. The auctioneers are well aware of the situation and are working with the seller to assist. In the end, if you are not comfortable with the view of the stamps on offer, don't buy them.
Regards ... Tim.
From STAMPORAMA AUCTION AND APPROVAL BOOK RULES:
E. Unacceptable Listing Practices:
E1. The following listing practices are considered unacceptable, and may result in summary closure of an auction lot:
e. Image not provided, when required, or poorly created (representative, too dark, out of focus, too small, improperly cropped, etc.)
I agree that it should not be personal, which is why I avoided listing the name of the seller. I even cropped the listing name that features his/her name prominently to avoid making it personal.
We have rules.

I notice that the aforementioned "fuzzy" Book has been removed.
Will the other eight be removed please or at least be de-activated.
I agree with rrraphy that it does the image (pardon the pun) of Stamporama no good.
Some people diminish the quality of my StampoRama experience . . .
The quality and the integrity of the site is in my opinion being compromised;I can ignore the Fog offerings but potential new members and visitors see this material and it does not bode well for new growth and new memberships.
Smauggie, i agree, its not only the "fog" but the CONDITION of the stamps he sells.
Phil,
I'm not sure that was what he was referring to ...
Does he live in an area where some member can give him a hand? I would never buy from him since you really can't tell the condition of the stamps, but I notice that some sellers show stamps with obvious damage that is not mentioned. That doesn't bother me a whole lot as long as the damage is evident but it does go against the rules. If we enforce the rules in one instance it should be done in all others, as long as a warning is given first!
The only reason these fuzzy items are selling is they are chirppy chirppy cheap cheep!
It would appear that the images of the fuzzy books have been taken by phone rather than a scanner.
So much for the "great" technology of mobiles.
Yes you can read,
yes you can take photos of mountains and folkies but don't try stamps.
You can even speak to people far away but don't take photos of stamps.
So much for all the hard work Tim put in to make the system "phone" friendly. Just don't take photos of stamps.
If any one really wants to know who is buying these items you can use the Stamporama system to find out.....if you know how to. (spooky)

"Just don't take photos of stamps."
Musicman, if so i stand corrected !
I have used a cellphone camera many times to take photos of stamps and covers to use for posting here, and it works fine.
The lots referred to originally in this thread were taken with an actual camera.
We continue to work behind the scenes to address and correct this.
Please allow us the time to do so.
Not everything in this world of "instant gratification" happens instantly.
Further investigation reveals that the "fuzziness" started about July 2021. Only on the Approval Books. Individual stamps were fine but anything over 5 or 6 items started to be less clear.
This member should have been advised that the quality of picture had declined and help offered to them before now.
As rrraphy intimated it should not be left to individual members to complain but something like this could have been picked up earlier.
"As rrraphy intimated it should not be left to individual members to complain but something like this could have been picked up earlier."
Yes it is run by volunteers and what they do to provide this service is undeniably worthwile and appreciated.
However my point is that these "fuzzy" images have been appearing at least since July 2021. ie for seven months
Yes there maybe extenuating circumstances for this individual but for how long is this "situation" going to continue?
If we all supplied "fuzzy" images the site would be a laughing stock.
I said that this could have been picked up earlier.
I now know that in this case it had been but it appears that despite the help and advice given to the individual concerned the "situation" continues.
I am not suggesting a police force but surely the volunteers see the same things as other members.
The basic problem is "Poor Communication" between the Management Team themselves and the members. In my opinion most of the criticisms and complaints are due to this lack of communication.
May I be so bold to suggest that the "Management Team" post a Monthly or Bi-monthly report on how Stamporama is progressing, what problems have arisen and what they are planning for the future.
There is a section in the Discussion Board that only members can access and it could be reported there.
People have different abilities and personalities. A lot of people have problems posting Auction Lots and Approval Books according to the rules. The Auctioneers spend a lot of time working with them, trying to help them be successful with their Auction Lots and Approval Books. They are very involved on this current issue. Let them do their job.
Tim.
Yes let them get on with their job.
It appears that (I am going to stop here as I feel what I have to say next is not for non members eyes)
I will add one comment. It seems that the management team and the moderators have ALWAYS shown an incredible level of tolerance and inclusiveness. Impatient and opinionated types like me, (and Ian?), while we moan, do appreciate it very much. I will publicly recognize its immense value for a club like Stamporama.

What's with the blurry out of focus approval pages? Or are my eyes finally going away?
