Greetings. i was sorting some stamps this afternoon and 2 of the Spanish stamps I happened to be sorting had a series of numbers on the back of them. I was wondering if they were some sort of stamp or sheet printing number or if there were something else? (Apologies for the second set of numbers from the second stamp being wiped out by the flash.)

I believe they call it a control number and it is very common on Spanish stamps of the era.

Thank you for the helpful information StampCollector. I was thinking it must be something like that. Also appreciate you sharing some other examples too. I was blown away by the fact that we both seem to have the same stamps as well. I mean what are the chances . . . . . Big Grin
