" .... a lot of sellers don't check the colours properly. ...."
I suspect that quite often the colors are checked, but many
sellers, especially on eBay just do not care and
probably count on the buyer not being able to check minor
details properly or thoroughly either...
Emptor, semper caviat ac diligentissimus.
I am still curious about the paper colours. A Hipstamp seller has a copy of #'s 1,2 and 3 together but his copy of #3 is on white paper. In my (humble) opinion this makes it a reproduction. Can any one tell me if my opinion is right. I really thought the originals of this early NS series was always printed on bluish paper. Can anyone help?
I was checking out a NS #2 on E-Bay today. The front looked fine but they also showed a picture of the back. It was obvious that the paper was white and not the usual bluish colour. Am I right when I say that only the copies (fakes) of these early NS stamps are on white (hard) paper and the real items should be on a bluish (softer) paper? If they had only showed the front of the stamp I probably would have bought it since the price was very fair! It is also very difficult to buy either a #2 (light blue) or a #3 (dark blue) on most sites since a lot of sellers don't check the colours properly.
