In the first retouch the oblique line is only partially removed; in the second retouch the line is gone, leaving the âTâ thin and surrounding shading dashes recut. Shown here is the scarce first retouch on the yellow-green paper. The white paper recut is State II; the information relating to State II of the yellow-green paper also applies to State II of the white paper.
