Are my studded snow tires legal in places with palm trees?
Timely advice, here is our front yard this morning, minus 29c but sunny.
joshtanski,
If you drive on the beach which is legal here.
We have had a glaze of ice on the sidewalks and streets all day..i made it out to the paper box..but of course no Sunday paper. I guess we are old fashioned ..don't see any other newspaper boxes on the street.
The weather here in central NC has been significantly warmer this year but we did get a blast of cold air and small amount of snow (part of the storm that hit central Virginia and traffic mess on I-95.
We did get a wee bit o' snow on Friday morning. I decided I wasn't going out there, so I worked from home. By noon it had all melted off the sidewalks and driveway.
Then it warmed up and drizzled rain much of the weekend.
It was 14 degrees when I left the house this morning! Brrrr!
From the overnight low of minus 30c we are currently at minus 1. Do I put clothes on or take them off, crazy Manitoba weather.
I spend some of my time remembering life in the tropics on the banks of the Panama Canal.
A strange winter here in Indianapolis. Prior to December 1, only .5" of snow in November. As of January 11th, the December and January period has seen no measurable snow; only one light dusting in December. This snowless period ties the record going back 137 years. This pattern apparently extends east into central Ohio and west into central Illinois as well. An odd weather pattern. If it persists for a few hundred years, we can blame climate change!

Here in Eastern North Dakota, we have already surpassed last winters snowfall. We have also had the temp drop to the minus 25 range a few times.
We are in a Winter Storm Watch for tomorrow night and Friday. They are forecasting 4 to 8 inches of snow. It would be nice if my Canadian friends could keep these Alberta Clippers north of the border.
Hope your total is closer to 4" than 8"!!! A smaller clipper is staying north of us today. Your storm is traveling generally south-southeast for now and staying west of us before turning east across Kentucky and Tennessee. We might get .5". That would be our first snow since the .5" we had in November. We're nearly 11" below normal so far! And above normal temperatures so far too. Not a bad winter at all to date.
Tom
We lucked out and only got about 3 inches.
We in NS were slammed with snow drifts 2 plus feet high !!! First big storm but probably not our last !!!!
