Funny you should be asking about the small letter rate into the US on the first day of my test of small letters out of Thailand. The most expensive letter was the one to the US which was strange because the 20 gram airmail rate should be very similar to the European rate according to the Thai Post website. Then I noticed a chart in Thai about Covid restrictions and there I saw that the airmail letter rates for 40 gram and under had been cancelled so 41 grams is the minimum rate. I'm not sure why but I will post the Thai form in my thread below. All I can think of is there is a fumigation charge or similar. Anyway small airmail letter to Canada cost about $0.85, to the UK and France $1.03 and the US $1.61.
Canada's "P" (Permanent) NVI value is at the moment 92¢. It costs $1.30 to mail an up to 30 gram letter to the USA. But if you buy the stamps at the Post Office, add 13% HST to equal $1.47.
I use brave.search.com (no ads!) and found it at the Canada Post web site. But there is a lot of crap out there these days!
Here is my Canada Postage Rate chart that I use every day:
(there were no letter rate increases in January 2021)
"Standard" dimensions:
Maximum 245mm x 156mm x 5mm thickness
Minimum 140mm x 90mm x .18mm
Non_Standard ("Oversize")
Maximum 380mm x 270mm x 20mm thickness
Divide the "mm" size by 25.4 to get "inches".
"Thickness" is measured by sliding the envelope through slots in the plastic template the post office uses (and is available for purchase). I think my last one cost me about $8.00.
"NVI" (no value indicated) stamps are labelled "P" (Permanent) stamps. Buy only one across the counter and it is $1.07 plus tax (tax varies by province, from 5% to 15%). Buy a booklet, sheet or roll and they are 92c each (plus tax).
Earlier NVI stamps are problematic. Their value never changed, but since nobody (other than collectors) know what they were supposed to be, they are frequently used as single stamps for the first class rate. Since they are tagged, the machinery doesn't know the difference and they get through. Notable examples are the two 43c non-denominated stamps, the Louisbourg booklet and the non-denominated flag stamp. I don't use these, but they sell immediately when offered in lots on ebay -- for obvious reasons.

Nice discussion on postage rates. Here is the table I use
Plus taxes 15% of course.
You are out of date. That is from pre- January 2020
$1.27 is now $1.30
$1.90 is now $1.94
$3.12 is now $3.19
and I was just told by my local Postmaster that rate increases are coming January 2022, but no rates announced yet.
Roy
Thanks Roy
But it is the 15% tax that really hurts
Kees
Phew...HST here in Ontario is only 13%!
Fellow Canadians:
If you need postage to mail letters, contact your local stamp dealer, or send a message to Roy. All dealers and Roy have lots of older postage to sell you; if you do not mind using two to four stamps to make the rate you require.

1.) What is the cost in Canadian Dollars for a small letter
to the USA ?
2.) What is the value of a single Canadian NVI stamp ?
( For instance, what is the cost of a "Bluenose" or other
recently issued Canadian postage stamp ?"
For bonus points Google;
What is the small letter Canadian postage rate to the USA ?
