do you want to consider plastic holders instead; you'd be able to insert your cards directly into standardized sizes. Just a thought
You could always use the Albumeasy program from our Clive.
It is not difficult to use, especially as really you only need a border plus text and maybe a frame line.
If you do have problems Clive is extremely helpful.
I also had considered pages long time ago but ended up with Vario 2 pocket. The cost of the
mounts was the biggest issue and did not want to use corners. I was going to straighten them up and add better labeling but at the bottom of the to do list.
I use the 2 pocket clear Vario (sorry no pictures) so that I can see both sides.
I use AlbumEasy to make my pages. Here's a page from my QE2 Coronation FDC series. You could make one like this for your postal cards.
I focus on used stamps and covers so I use the clear double pocket cover holders to allow view of both sides of card/cover.
Album Easy puts the power of album organization into the user’s hands. I use it all the time with much satisfaction.
I use these Ultra Pro two pocket pages for all my collections. I print the 7 x 5.5" inserts on 60 lb bond stock. No need for any further mount, the cards just hold in place.
I have been saving up US Postal Cards to create my own album.
Your two pocket page is very attractive. I agree that such pages are an effective way to house and display such material. A question: in the picture you posted are the two sides of the same postcard shown, with one of them a scan of the card?
"A question: in the picture you posted are the two sides of the same postcard shown, with one of them a scan of the card?"
My small "DAYTON" postmark collection is mostly in black 2-or-4 pocket pages, as I usually don't care much about the photo on the postcard, or the reverse of the envelope.
On occasions when the postcard or envelope is also of interest, I put them in clear 2-or-4 pocket pages so I can see both sides.
I wish I had the patience to make something like those NJ pages, they are wonderfully done, with the DPO info and dates, and I can really appreciate the county locator map.
Thanks Tom! The pages aren’t all that time consuming, once I did the set up. The individual cards are 7 x 5-1/2” to fit in the page pockets. I have a cutting board so that’s only two cuts… cut 1-1/2” off the edge, then cut it in half!
I set up a template page for each county in Word. I found a state outline with county boundaries. As I did each county page, I colored it in. There are two pages per sheet. There is a text field at each location, and I have a spread sheet with all the NJ town data. So it’s easy to make each card as I obtain new covers. Just a few minutes per cover!
I was wanting to build an album for my accumulation of US postal cards. Are any of you aware of a source or download for postal card pages? I can print up to 13 X 19. Thanks for your help.
