Hi there,
The stamp was issued in 1968. In 1973 they began to add tagging to the stamp. Untagged stamps are worth just a wee bit more than tagged stamps.
It is tagged, as well as the others I looked at. But just the one turns black under the UV light.
I have a pure guess with no proof whatsoever - Could the stamp have picked up some kind of dye from it's envelope?
It is not discolord on the back or the front. So I don´t think it picked up something from a envelope.
I have been sorting my US stamps and came across this stamp. When I use the UV light on it the main color of the stamp turns to a almost black color. The other stamps that I have of this issue do not. All are 1973 (according to the Michel) with phospor.
Is this a some kind of variety?
