Just to avoid confusion: The "Parc National de Mercantour" belongs to France and covers part of the Sea Alps. Moncao has no part in it, but it is not very far from the park. This may justify using images from it on the stamps. I guess they'd be glad in Monaco if they had more space for trees, it is the most densely populated country in the world.
An interesting fact about Monaco: They issued a special kind of small definitive stamps (about half the size of ordinary ones) to be used when sending visiting cards (calling cards) in small envelopes. Sadly, I only know them from illustrations.

I agree that Monaco stamps are really good, especially because so many are engraved and recess printed. I'd love to hear more about the 1957 Princess Grace birth of Princess Caroline issue. Is it really a special item for collectors? It's shown with a quite modest price in Gibbons ... or am I missing something? Is there a special issue?
And what about the 1885 Charles III issue? Or the 1919 war orphans issue?
1) Thank for inform me mistake. I correct my mistake. Parc National de Mercantour is Francia.
2) 1957 Princess Grace stamps is low price. But I don't know why that one is $1200. I know little about Monaco stamp, sorry much.

Monaco is great for topical collectors who like plants! There are lots of International Flower Show stamps, as well as a number of sets that show a particular plant in each of the four seasons. Always classy, never gaudy. Always welcome in my collection!
Grace Kelly became Princess Grace in April, 1956. I had had my 13th birthday in January, and regularly received approvals from two or three different stamp companies. Among the approvals I received that year were the regular-mail stamps celebrating her marriage to Prince Ranier.
My collection soon began wilting on the vine as I switched from stamps to girls, and in late 1969 or early 1970, not long after I graduated from university, I sold my collection to a dealer in Ottawa. I got 20 dollars for my three-volume, sparsely populated Scott International stamp album and a handful of U.S. plate blocks from the early 1950s.
Not long after II began collecting again, around 1980, I bought the complete set of those Monaco stamps, including the lovely airmails:

Too bad the Princess Grace story had such a tragic ending. Prince Ranier never truly got over the loss, according to some sources. Since the prince's passing, we can think that their spirits are together again.
Interesting thought just came to my mind. What is the Polynesian belief as to the spirit following the death of a person?

Monaco is very wealthy sovereign city-state. French is nationale language, but they not govern by France. Few stamp collectors focus Monaco because is small nation with mixture history Francia & Italia. Monaco is low profile compare to USA & Russia that on TV everyday-every hour-every minutes.
.
People whom collect Monaco stamps is French speakers & ancestry trace to Monaco. They have interest in casino, race car or yacht. They also interest in Royal family. They admired James Bond movies, many filmed in Monaco. This collectors is unusual, their stamps is glamours with internationale thesis & wealth statues. They very selective & target certain stamp not care expensive price. Monaco stamps is high quality with low quantity. Excellent design with beautie color........ Strong recommend collecting Monaco stamps. You have less competitors bidding Monaco stamps.
