I did get the lot even though I had to pay a bit more than I wanted to. Nobody ever showed me a photo of what you call AR6 so I'm going to assume no one has one. If I ever manage to find one I'll post a picture. The SG number is 202a, they don't actually show a picture but they do say "dated "1..."" so I guess I know what to look for. I have a copy of Stanley Gibbons Part 10 Russia 7th edition. I don't use it very often since I use Scott numbers. They tend to include all issues as regular numbers rather than separate them out as Scott's does. It would be less confusing in the long run, I wonder why Scott's became so prevalent!!
EDIT: Actually Scott's does show a picture of AR6, really dumb of me not to notice. AR1 to AR6 are called Postal Savings Stamps where AR7 to Ar25 are called Control Stamps. I'm not sure of the difference. I'll have to do a bit of research, part of the fun of stamp collecting. I actually might learn something today! Does anyone want to tell me the difference?
This is a question for the Russia BOB expert out there. I just bid on a lot that includes AR5 and then skips to AR7. So I got curious about AR6. It seems that, in Scott's, 5 and 6 are both 50k but whereas #5 has 18__, #6 has 1___. Can anyone confirm this for me and can any one of you scan and show a copy of AR6? The only AR stamps I will be missing, if I manage to win this lot, will be AR6 and AR23 which are both very hard to find. My Minkus album only shows a few of these AR revenue stamps and leaves the rest to the imagination of the collector.
Edit: In case you're curious as to why these stamps are important ... They were used as regular postage during a period of massive inflation in Russia at this time. I guess that's why they are even shown in my Minkus album.
