Came across this tucked inside an FDC. Thought it might be interesting for a discussion.

What do you think? Have tastes changed? I can't imagine the American Chemical Society stamp winning any awards today.

Maybe somebody would like to post images of the actual stamps (I am pressed for time) so that those who aren't familiar with these stamps can join in. .... hint, hint.

i noted the editorial about the Battle of Brooklyn.... yes, it was a colonial defeat, in the same way Dunkirk was for the Brits. In fact, it was the first of a series of colonial defeats, but always with an intact Army.

Six commemoratives.... and they probably moved 20X the amount of personal mail compared to today

I remember the Washington /Battle of Brooklyn stamp more so than the others.
