I hope that they do not feel intimidated by the regular gang over here
Although I'm not New, I just don't post a lot. If it will make you happy, I'll just say
HI
"....this place is tame compared to some i have been on."
I suppose you are right. On other places the flamethrower is used all the time. This is a friendly place.
I'll bite.
I stumbled across this site during the pandemic while homebound and looking for software to catalogue my teenage-years stamp collection. I was way into stamp collecting back then and remembered looking through approvals from Trust Stamp Company. Then I found that this site had approvals and I was sent back in time 45 years to my old approval days. I've found a number of great sellers here so far, a very friendly and honest community.
I landed on StampManage 2021 to document my collection -- does anyone else use this package? It is very easy to use and seems to work on a shared data model so people can add items, images, etc.
Sidebar -- does anyone know whatever happened to Trust Stamp Company? Google comes up blank.

I would be curious about how many new people have been joining each month. Most that had participated in the past either joined or not posting because they did not pay the dues. Since you have to pay to post, SOR will not get the one post type questions.
I have used StampManage for a number of years.
Trust Stamp Company
I used to get approvals from them too. Hadn't thought about them in a long time.
welcome aboard, Ron.
glad the approvals fit your bill.
I'd never heard of Trust Stamps, but it's as close to apple pie as one gets in philately
I bought from them in the late 60s and into the 70s. They were in Jamaica, NY.
I used to deal with Littleton Stamps in the 1970's and 1980's, I still have a bunch of their coupons. How many people remember them and does any one collect their coupons?
Harvey, Years ago we were in Littleton N.H. and i asked about the Stamp company. I eventually found it a bit out of town...it was a weekend so i imagine the place was closed. As i recall it was a "sheetmetal" building with almost no windows. Did not get a warm fuzzy feeling from it. I guess some things are best left to the imagination.
Never dealt much with Littleton.
I honestly can't remember how deals with Littleton went down, I couldn't have been very memorable. Can anyone remember how it worked? Was it an approval service? I must have used them a lot because of the large number of unused tokens I have, but I guess my memory of those days is a bit shaky. I suppose the fact it was the 1970's and 1980's might have something to do with it!
Littleton operated on the same basis as Garcelon and Jamestown..they sent approvals that they selected and hope you would purchase...i would send them 25 or 35 cents...never made a purchase that required a paper dollar.
My father got approvals for many years from Trust Stamp Company. I recently found a couple of small books in a box from them that I think my father forgot to send back ! Like finding an old library book that was not returned. Steve
My young days collecting, I liked Garcelon Stamp Company up in Calais, Maine. There were many others I tried or used alot. They advertised in many magazines, and matchbooks. They were the likes of Mystic, Jamestown, HE Harris, Kenmore, Empire Stamp Company, Ernest Schlesinger (Empire was run by his son), and many approval dealers. Some I still buy from today.
Howdy! New member, here, from College Station, TX. I've collected off and on for about 25 years. Since I'm a botanist, I collect plants on stamps--trees, flowers, gardens, botanists, medicinal/edible/dye/poisonous plants, etc. I'm in the process of sorting through my collection and figuring out what I actually have. I'm finding all sorts of things I've forgotten I bought. Ooops. Look forward to "meeting" all of you, checking out your approvals, and just generally hanging out here.

appropriate avatar, Monique. Glad to have you aboard.
among other things, I'm a bat topical collector; many of their species are pollinators and seed spreaders; others eat the things that eat the plants
Hello Texas Monique:
Welcome to Stamporama. I lived in Brownwood, TX for a few years in the mid-1990s.

David, you wouldn't recognize Brownwood if you visited it today.
Hi TexasMonique, from Aggieland!
Welcome TexasMonique from the north end of the country.
Hi Monique -
Glad to see another botanist in this joint. Are there any groups you are particularly focused on collecting (as plants or stamps?)
Steve
