I found these two sheets in a old collection and thought they were quite interesting.

They are obviously trade sheets that someone put together, the first shows "The new Washington Series" !! and the second a "new Issue" form 1933. All the stamps are glued to the paper with a dab of glue and you can see from the removed stamp spaces it was not kind to the paper. As well the mint "new Issue" was licked and stuck to the paper at the top.

It looks like collecting back then was not nearly as concerned over condition as everyone seems to be today. Simpler times perhaps?

" ...Simpler times perhaps?..."

Yes, simpler times before the investors and speculators
made MNH, plate Numbers and postal souvi=nirshetlets the
afd de jure.

Hinges were the custom and decently cancelled stamps just
as treasured as the "Never in the same room as a hinge"
obsession demanded.
That made it easier or those ho did not have the tim to
learn about condition, postmarks and such.
As for the glue, I'll pass on that.
