You can expect to be still outbid. It will be interesting to know how your win percentage changes.
I highly recommend GIXEN. I have used it for 1000s of bids and am completely satisfied. Cost is free or very low fixed price/yr like $6/yr for a mirror server option. Before GIXEN I had used 3 other snipe services and was not satisfied with any of them. They have a smartphone app that works well but mostly I use their full screen web interface.
I have been using Bidnapper for well over 10 years. You still can be beaten, no doubt about it because people have higher bids than you out there. Bidnapper comes in with about 3-4 seconds to go. I am not familiar with Gixen but will look at it as Bidnapper is $40 a year.

With GIXEN the default is six seconds before the end but you can set the time to bid lower or higher. Six seems to work well but occasionally I set it lower.
Many thanks for the quick replies. I know it's not a guarantee of winning but just leaving a maximum bid in earlier just doesn't hack it. I will be tempted to raise my maximums of course so my data may not prove too much
I have always used eSnipe.com
It is a paid service, you only pay the fee if you win.
I buy $10 worth of bid points about once a year.
Same here had never any problems works like a charm.
Thanks again on the advice. I'm playing with Gixen right now and then I will try esnipe.com
I have finally got fed up with last minute sniping on my bids and will go over to the 'dark' side. Any advice on which sniping program I should use would be appreciated. It's not for very expensive bids. I'm rarely over $10;-)
