I like the idea of this being related to an expedition of some kind by I wonder if it's a regular postmark meaning "dispatch" or "delivery" or something similar?
I've seen similar words used in other languages for this purpose.
The postmark does give some "class" to the stamp .
I speak Spanish and I completely agree with Nigel. It is just an officious word for "being sent".
Hello! While sorting through a lot of Argentina, I came across this 1910 Stamp with the "La Rioja Expedition" cancellation. I have never seen this cancellation before. Google was of little help, although i did learn that an explorer named Eric Boman (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Boman) did conduct expeditions into La Rioja, Argentina around this time.
Has anybody else ever seen this cancellation? Does anybody know about the "La Rioja Expedition" or why it warranted this cancellation? Were special covers created for this expedition?
Any information would be appreciated.
Much thanks!
