Here you go!
And with a bit more detail from my initial acquisition.
Great looking stamps - I'm very jealous. If you ever manage to finish the series please post another image. The last of the series is expensive, but I have others I paid more for. So you never know!! You do have the 50p which lists for $150 in my Scott's. Thanks for posting the picture!
Yes, the 50p was a bit of a reach and I have not seen any of the N6 through N8 stamps offered as mint stamps in the last year so they aren't encountered that frequently (at least at my usual haunts of eBay, Hipstamp, and Stamporama).
There are three copies of #6 on E-Bay right now. One that is supposedly expertized is $100 (BIN or make an offer), another that may be is described in French (so I'm really not sure) for 69.9 Euros (BIN or make an offer) and one that is a fake has no bids (starting bid 0.99 GBP). I'd be hesitant to buy any of them!! It lists in my 2015 Scott's at $140 (either mint or used) so the prices seem a bit high to me for something I really don't trust.
I found two of the listings and one is for a used stamp and the other is from a seller with very few sales although a fairly long involvement as a buyer on eBay. The stamp's price is a bit high but not excessively so far an item that is as seldom offered as the Aunus stamps. It is tempting but there is no evidence of any other items from the area on the vendor's listings so I will pass as well. Update: contacted vendor for additional details just in case as these stamps are very seldom offered. Will let you know what I find out.
I had to change my search terms to find the listing. I must remember to search for stamps using the search term stamps followed by keywords rather than vice versa. My wife found a stamp I had been searching for a long time before by making that search term change when I was working on the Smithsonian Stamp for Every Country album.
Contacted eBay vendor for the N6 mint stamp and was able to get some provenance details which satisfied me so after some negotiation have made the purchase. Thanks for mentioning the availability of the items! I will add a picture with more details following its arrival.
Glad to help Jerrel, if I happen to run into the others in the series I'll let you know. The last few in the series are much more expensive though. I know you also have to be very careful of forgeries. I ran into one seller a while ago who does something a bit unusual, every time he sells a forgery he puts the word forgery on the back in pen. I know some of you would object to this way of defacing the stamp but I think it's a great idea.
And here is the promised image for the N6 stamp of the series after receiving the stamp today.
A great looking stamp Jerrel, only a couple more to go!!
Just checked in my 2015 Scott's N7 is $425 and N8 is $725. I'd love to have the set, it would finish ( Finnish ) off that part of my collection, Russian occupation stamps. I'm afraid it'll be a while!
I finally made a start on the series, just took a while. I found the first 4 and #6 on E-Bay for a very fair price - hopefully they are not repros, but I did buy them from a dealer I've dealt with several times and never had a problem. That's a good sign, at least in my opinion (I refuse to use IMHO!!). Now I've got one medium priced one to go and the two "biggies" before the series is Finnished!!
I don't even have a spot in my Minkus album for these since they are quite expensive. I have from N9 - N48 (Ostland and Ukraine overprints). I doubt if I will ever be able to afford N1 to N8 ( Olonets in Russia - Finnish occupation ), but does anyone out there have a nice picture they would post? I know I can always see them on-line, but why not give one of you a chance to show off a bit? I'd love to know if any one of you has them! I know counterfeits exist, but I'd really like to at least see them.
