Apparently "Hermosillo" is a place in Mexico. Maybe a post mark or something like that?
Talon means "stub" (among other things) in Spanish, so the little coupons on the bottom are some sort of thing retained by someone, I imagine?
I would think maybe a revenue stamp or something maybe? I don't know; I just google things. Hopefully an expert will be along soon to answer.
These are Internal Revenue (Renta Interior) stamps. The one dated 1896-97 (5 centavos) with attached talon has a CV of 25 cents according to Robert's Mexico's Revenue Stamps (2011). The 1897-98 (10 centavos) with attached talon has a CV of 30 cents. Used revenue stamps with attached talons have a certain appeal, since, in practice, the talon should have been separated from the stamp when the covered transaction was completed.

Thank you! One of the joys of stamp collecting is the ability to receive an education from each other.
I found these among the shoe boxes in a collection I purchased. I do not know how to describe them. What kind of stamps are they? I'm also interested to know if the apparent overprints are meaningful.
Thank you!
BOB
