Well doesn't that just take the biscuit!
Looks to me like they were hinged onto paper at some time and have picked up an imprint from the page.
What a beautiful set with all the high values they should have some value !
"And out of curiosity, do you have any idea as to how these stains happened."
" .... My first question of course is how does
the stain effect the value of these sets? ...."
That depends on whether someone is buying or selling.
Buying; "Oh shucks, I'd gladly pay full catalogue
for them except for the stains."
Selling;"Such tiny stains can be easily cleaned
without affecting the value."
Collector; "I'd probably never be able to afford
or even find better examples."
i hear you Charlie !
In a box lot I found the following: This Italian set and the entire
Aegean island set in MNH and well as the Castelloriza Is. set as well.
Also have CE1 and CE2 MNH with stain.
But all have the same stain and pattern as the ones shown..
My first question of course is how does the stain effect the value of these
sets?
And out of curiosity, do you have any idea as to how these stains happened.
Thanks
